| The File Import dialog allows you to select a file from any drive and folder accessible from your computer. The default directory when the Data Import dialog opens is the folder named in the Source Data Directory field of the Options|General Preferences page.

| If the file you want to load is elsewhere in your file structure, navigate to the proper folder and select the file.

| To load the file, double click on the file in the dialog or select it and click [Open]
|

| Regardless of the file extension, the sophisticated file parsing engine of ProQuant will analyze the file to determine its data structure and load the data accordingly. The file extensions mentioned here are for your information only and are actually ignored by ProQuant. The parsing engine actions are based not on what you tell it to expect (with a file extension) but on what it actually sees when it looks inside the file.
